Indigenous People and U.S. Government Policies with the Great Lakes Peace Center

Indigenous People and U.S. Government Policies with the Great Lakes Peace Center Online

This presentation will provide an overview of the Doctrine of Christian Discovery and its impact on Indigenous communities past and present. For sustained peace, a broader historical understanding of the injustices that continue to bring harm to millions of people within the borders of the United States is needed. The Great Lakes Peace Center advocates for peaceful social change. We will discuss strategies for supporting First Nations peoples.

Peace Center Mission and Vision
Our mission is Building Peace, Celebrating Diversity.
Our vision is to offer a variety of services that will shift human understanding toward empathy, compassion and connection in order to facilitate personal growth. We believe this will create a ripple effect resulting in greater peace and well-being for individuals, families, communities and our world. In recognition of the pain that racial discrimination can create, we founded the Peace Center.
