Join us for an evening of murder, robbery and mayhem through the ages in the Great Lakes state. With irreverence and historical context, author Tom Carr shares stories of the dark history and true crimes of passion, greed, insanity and just plain awfulness in Michigan's gritty and gruesome past.

 

Tom Carr is an independent writer and journalist in Northern Michigan who spent 25 years in daily newspapers, primarily the Traverse City Record-Eagle. He’s won journalistic awards for his investigative reporting, feature writing, breaking news and humor columns, and often covered police, courts and crime. He is the author of Blood on the Mitten: Infamous Michigan Murders, 1700s-Present (2016), MI BAD: Robbers, Cutthroats and Thieves in Michigan’s Past and Present (2018), and his latest, Dark Side of the Mitten: Crimes of Power & Powerful Criminals in Michigan’s Past & Present (2020).


Registration is required and begins Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10am, closing one hour before the event starts. The Zoom meeting link and password will be emailed to registered participants prior to the program. See below for technical requirements.
