"Murder of an Elvis Girl: Solving the Jenny Maxwell Case" with Buddy Moorehouse

"Murder of an Elvis Girl: Solving the Jenny Maxwell Case" with Buddy Moorehouse Online

In the early 1960s, Jenny Maxwell was one of the brightest stars in Hollywood, most famous for her role as Elvis Presley's co-star in 1961's Blue Hawaii. Back then, Jenny appeared on countless TV shows, from The Twilight Zone to My Three Sons, graced magazine covers, and had her own fan club.

In 1981, Jenny was brutally gunned down outside her Beverly Hills condo alongside her estranged husband. The murders were reported to be part of a botched robbery attempt.

But that's not at all what happened, as longtime Livingston County journalist and Jenny Maxwell's relative Buddy Moorehouse shows in his new debut book, Murder of an Elvis Girl: Solving the Jenny Maxwell Case. Two years ago, he set out to discover who murdered his mother's famous first cousin through meticulously researching not only the case, but Jenny's fascinating and tragic Hollywood life.

Hear the story of the Elvis girl's life and death, and how Moorehouse turned his personal journey to discover the truth into a true-crime Hollywood novel.

Buddy Moorehouse is a longtime Livingston County journalist and documentary filmmaker. He was the editor of the Livingston County Daily Press and Argus (and its predecessors, the Brighton Argus and Livingston County Press) for 26 years, and is currently a blogger for The Livingston Post. He lives in Gregory, and he and his wife, Kathy, have four children.
