Science Club Jr.: Polymers (grades K-3) Online

One is the loneliest number. Let’s make one substance happy by combining it with another to make a polymer. Polymers are everywhere around us! Join us as we make some of our own by combining water with some of our favorite water-absorbing powders, crystals and spheres. This might get a little messy, so have some paper towel or wipes handy.

After registering, attending this event has 2 steps: supply pickup followed by live virtual instruction.

Step 1: Register below, beginning 10am on Monday, April 26. Please register each individual child that will need a kit & be participating. Class is geared toward students in grades K-3.

Step 2: Each registered attendee can pick up a Science Club Jr. kit containing all needed supplies. Drive up to Curbside Pickup at the back door of the library Monday, May 10 - Saturday, May 15 during the Library's curbside hours (Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm & Friday-Saturday 10am-2pm). Let library staff know what you're picking up and the registered name(s).

Step 3: Live virtual instruction will take place over Zoom on Monday, May 17, 6:30-7:00pm.  Have your kit & excited self ready to go and log-in to Zoom a few minutes before 6:30pm.  Please have some paper towel or wipes handy.

You will receive a confirmation email when you register, as well as a reminder email 1 day prior to the class - both of these emails will come from "Library Events Home" and will contain the zoom information.

Please contact library staff at youth@howelllibrary.org or 517-546-0720 if you have any questions.
