Science Club: Spy Science (grades 3-6) Online

It’s cloak and dagger time as we explore the science of spying. We will begin by testing invisible inks to see which one works best. We will then build a milk carton periscope to observe things unseen and we will finish by dusting for fingerprints. You will need to supply an oven, an adult to make some cuts and some wipes. Espionage is a dirty trade. All other supplies will be provided.

After registering, attending this event has 2 steps: supply pickup followed by live virtual instruction.

Step 1: Register below, beginning 10am on Monday, April 19. Please register each individual child that will need a kit & be participating. Class is geared toward students in grades 3-6.

Step 2: Each registered attendee can pick up a Science Club kit containing all needed supplies. Drive up to Curbside Pickup at the back door of the library Monday, May 3 - Saturday, May 8 during the Library's curbside hours (Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm & Friday-Saturday 10am-2pm). Let library staff know what you're picking up and the registered name(s).

Step 3: Live virtual instruction will take place over Zoom on Monday, May 10, 6:30-7:15pm. Have your kit & excited self ready to go and log-in to Zoom a few minutes before 6:30pm. Please also have access to an oven, an adult nearby to make some cuts, and some wipes.

You will receive a confirmation email when you register & you will receive an email reminder 1 day prior to the class from "Library Events Home" - both emails will contain the zoom link.

Please contact youth@howelllibrary.org or 517-546-0720 if you have questions.
