Owl Pellet Dissection & Food Webs (ages 4-12) Online
Whooo eats who? Find out as we dissect an owl pellet while exploring food webs and animal adaptations for survival. We'll also build a food chain and see how a food chain differs from a food web. This program will be presented by staff from Flint's Longway Planetarium & Sloan Museum over Zoom on Monday, March 15 at 6:30pm. This class is designed for families with children aged 4 - 12 years old, teens are welcome as well. Ages 4 - 7 will need help from a parent/older sibling. Please register one person per family that will be participating. Each kit will be one per family.
After registering, attending this event has 2 steps: supply pickup followed by live virtual instruction.
Step 1: Register below, beginning at 10 am on Monday, February 22. Please register one person per family that will be participating. Registration ends March 6; Email youth@howelllibrary.org for availability after this point.
Step 2: Each registered family can pick up a kit containing all needed supplies (one per family). Drive up to Curbside Pickup at the back door of the library Monday, March 8th – Saturday, March 13th during the Library's curbside hours (Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm & Friday-Saturday 10am-2pm); not available for pickup after 2pm Saturday, March 13. Let library staff know what you're picking up and the regsitered name.
Step 3: Live virtual instruction will take place over Zoom on Monday, March 15 at 6:30pm. Have your kit & excited self, ready to go and log-in to zoom a few minutes before 6:30pm. Ages 4-7 will need help from a parent/older sibling.
Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email; you will also receive a reminder email 1 day prior to the class - both from Howell Library Events & both contain the zoom session information.
