Ranked-Choice Voting with Professor Lisa Disch

Ranked-Choice Voting with Professor Lisa Disch Online

With a ranked-choice voting system, voters rank candidates in order of preference instead of choosing only one, even in a race for a single office. Professor Lisa Disch will speak about this system and how it can encourage candidates to run issue-focused, non-dirt-throwing campaigns.

Lisa Disch is Professor of Political Science, with a courtesy appointment in Women's Studies, at the University of Michigan. She teaches classes on democratic politics, feminism, and political philosophy and has written many books and articles, including The Tyranny of the Two-Party System.

Registration is required and begins Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 10am, closing one hour before the program starts. The Zoom meeting link and password will be emailed to registered participants prior to the program. See below for technical requirements.

The event includes a live Q&A session after the presentation during which as many audience questions will be addressed as time permits. If you have questions ahead of the program, please enter them into the registration form when you register or submit them on this form in advance of the program and we will do our best to have your question(s) addressed live during the event.
