Join our staff as we read out loud together... an imaginative adventure from Newbery Medal–winning author Beverly Cleary... a young mouse named Ralph is thrown into a world of excitement when a boy and his shiny toy motorcycle check in to the Mountain View Inn.  Each registered participant will receive a kit that includes a copy of the book and a corresponding activity packet. 

Participants can read/listen along with staff over zoom (recordings will be available to registered participants), about 2-3 chapters per week, followed by a brief discussion, then work independently on their activity packet at home. This event is a 5 week series, taking place on Fridays at 9:30 am, beginning Friday, January 29 and ending Friday, February 26. The e-book and audiobook are also available on hoopla. Please register each individual child (grades K-5) that will need a kit & be participating. 

After registering, attending this event has 2 steps: Kit pickup followed by live virtual instruction.

Step 1: Register below, beginning at 10 am on Monday, January 4. Please register each individual child that will need a kit & be participating. Class is geared toward students in grades K-5. (Registration ends Tuesday, January 19; please email youth@howelllibrary.org for availability after this point.)

Step 2: Each registered attendee can pick up a Chapter Adventurers kit containing all needed supplies. Drive up to Curbside Pickup at the backdoor of the library Thursday, January 21 – Thursday, January 28, during the Library's curbside hours (Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm & Friday-Saturday 10am-2pm); not available for pickup after 6pm Thursday, January 28. Let library staff what you're picking up and the registered name(s). 

Step 3: Live meetings (where we read 2-3 chapters then have a brief discussion) will take place over Zoom on Fridays at 9:30am, beginning Friday, January 29 (recordings will be available to registered participants). Have your book & excited self, ready to go and log-in to zoom a few minutes before 9:30am. (Or grab your book and watch the recording at your convenience).

Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email, as well as a reminder email 1 day prior to each live class - these emails will come from "Howell Library Events" and will contain the zoom information.
