Sister Pie Author Talk and Pie Tasting with Lisa Ludwinski In-Person
Lisa Ludwinski, founder of Sister Pie Bakery in Detroit, will share her experiences as baker, entrepreneur, and free-spirited community member. Born and raised in Michigan, Ludwinski trained at New York’s famous Momofuku Milk bar and Four & Twenty Blackbirds before starting Sister Pie out of her parents’ kitchen. She will highlight her 2019 Michigan Notable Book, Sister Pie: Recipes and Stories from a Big-hearted Bakery in Detroit, which pays homage to Motor City ingenuity and the all-American spirit. And of course, there will be pie! Copies of her cookbook will be available for purchase.
This is an after-hours event; enter through the Library’s front entrance starting at 5:30 pm.
