Canceled: Memory Cafe In-Person
Please note: due to lack of registration, this program has been canceled.
The Howell Carnegie District Library’s Memory Cafe is a welcoming quarterly gathering for people living with memory loss and their care partners, offering a relaxed space to connect, create, and enjoy time together with light refreshments. The Library is partnering with local artist Susan Pominville and ART Doing Good to bring a new hands-on art project to each session. Simple guided activities will spark conversation and familiar feelings through color, stories, and seasonal inspiration. Each participant will create a small piece that Susan will combine into a finished artwork for display in the library, and these creative moments will also help shape the community story behind Howell’s upcoming mural series.
Registration is required so we can prepare materials for everyone who joins. It begins May 29, 2026 at 9am online, by phone, or in person at the Information Desk. Sign-ups close Friday, June 12, or when registration is full. A minimum of five registered participants is necessary for this event to proceed as scheduled.
For Caregivers: you can register yourself and your participant(s) with a single registration! When you register, please note how many will be attending, and how many will be completing the art project. The library only needs the contact information of one registrant.
Seating begins 15 minutes before the event start time.
Please stay home if you are sick.
Library staff may photograph or videotape portions of this event and its attendees for use in promotional materials and on social media.
