Parent Child Workshop (Fall Session) (ages 0-3 with parents/caregivers)

Parent Child Workshop (Fall Session) (ages 0-3 with parents/caregivers) In-Person

Registration is required and begins at 9am on Monday, August 25, for the Fall Session of the Parent Child Workshop (September 8-October 6, 2025). Please individually register EACH parent, child, and infant who will be attending.

The Parent Child Workshop is for children 6 months to 3 years old and their parent(s)/caregiver(s). Siblings 5 years and younger are also welcome. Spend time together, play, experience art activities, and meet new friends. Community Resource Specialists informally discuss child development, speech and hearing, nutrition, and play and movement.

Workshop format:

  • The workshop is a place to connect with other families and community members while spending time playing with your child. During unstructured playtime, families are encouraged to move about the room exploring different types of play, including dramatic, construction, language, gross motor, fine motor, and an art/activity station. While playing with your child, you can informally discuss any concerns or questions you have with that week’s Community Resource Specialist.
  • After about 50 minutes of unstructured playtime, we have about 5 minutes of clean-up, where everyone helps put toys back into bins and closes the lids.
  • After clean-up time, we will have a brief circle time to sing songs and rhymes together before the workshop ends.

Guidelines for the workshop:

  • The Parent Child Workshop is designed to give you or your caregiver a special time with your child for playing, reading, and spending interactive quality time together.
  • Please handle situations concerning your child in a quiet, gentle manner.
  • Remain with your child at all times.
  • With the exception of bottles necessary for infants, no food is allowed in the room.
  • Library staff will be in the area at all times available to offer assistance as information and resource specialists.
  • Please stay home if you or your child is sick.

What to expect this week:

  • This week’s Community Resource Specialist focuses on child development.
  • This week’s art/activity station will feature exploring and playing with Play-Doh (you’ll be able to bring some home!).

Please stay home if you are sick. Library staff may photograph or videotape portions of this event and its attendees for use in promotional materials and on social media.

Please individually register EACH parent, child, and infant who will be attending.
