Learn to Play Chess (ages 9-17) In-Person
Learn basic chess moves and beginner strategies in this class offered over two days, Monday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 18. This course will be taught by Mike Nikitin, a three-time Class C state champion and president of the Livingston County Chess Club. The first day will focus more on beginner basics with some play time; the second day will have a shorter instructional period followed by more play time to put what you learned to the test!
This free course is for children and teens aged 9-17 years old.
Registration is required and begins at 9am on Monday, June 2. Please register each participant. Parents are welcome to watch if they would like.
Please stay home if you are sick.
Library staff may photograph or videotape portions of this event and its attendees for use in promotional materials and on social media.
