Do you have trouble finding time and space to read? Was “Sustained Silent Reading” your favorite subject in elementary school? Do you want to be in community space with other book-lovers without actually engaging with them? Come to the Howell Library to read and enjoy snacks and a juice bar! BYOBook, or read one of ours.

We ask that all cell phones and devices be turned off or put on silent mode so as to not disturb other silent reading participants. If you don’t even want to be tempted by your device, you can set it in a dedicated space for phones that will keep you focused on your goal.

Registration is required and begins Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 9am online, by phone, or in person at the Information Desk. Sign-ups close 1 day before the program starts, or when registration is full. A minimum of five (5) registrants by Wednesday, July 23, is required for this program to proceed as scheduled.

Seating begins 15 minutes before the event start time.
