Hear from Andrew Kercher, former security guard for the Grand Hotel and current Community Engagement Manager at the Port Huron Museum, about the history and the present of the Straits of Mackinac. Visited by millions, Mackinac is a special place for many Michiganders. Learn about the incredible history of Mackinac Island, from the indigenous peoples to fur trade and logging, to 19th century battles and fudge production. Enjoy tales from behind the porch as Andrew shares what it was like to live on the island in the winter and work security for the Grand Hotel.

 

No registration required. Seating begins 15 minutes before the event start time.
